ABOUT

Sel seeks to help individuals lead a life in honor of their authentic voice by offering bilingual (English & Spanish), BIPOC, and queer & trans-affirming liberation and wellness practices. She began practicing yoga in 2001. More than a decade later, she heard her favorite dharma teacher respond to an inquiry about falling asleep during meditation by noting that most Americas need sleep more than they need to meditate. Sel first experienced Yoga Nidra in 2018 and recognized it as the bridge between each of these wisdom modalities. A former academic and school teacher, Sel now considers it to be the highest compliment when she puts people to sleep!

Sleep Meditation

Rest | Relax | Renew

If you have difficulty sleeping or feel burnt out, Sleep Meditation is for you. This Session is practiced lying down and guides you into a state of deep relaxation and rest. We start with a self-massage (Abhyanga), move into surfing between wakefulness and sleep using the traditional modality of Yoga Nidra, and close with a journal reflection. Afterwards, notice yourself responding to thoughts, beliefs, and feelings in new ways. Fun fact: 30 minutes of Sleep Meditation = 4 hours of sleep.
